Although we typically do not have harsh winters in our region, we can have freezing temperatures which will damage above ground Backflow Assemblies, Pumps and Well/Pump Expansion Tanks. In January 2018 we had a week where the temperature did not go above 32 degrees resulting in many catastrophic failures of Backflows and Pumps.
We will perform the following procedures to Winterize your System:
Turn water off at irrigation meter, if present.
Turn water of at irrigation shut-off valve when attached to domestic water line.
Evacuate all water from backflow prevention device.
Open all test ports on backflow prevention device.
Turn power off at circuit breaker or disconnect.
Drain suction line.
Disconnect discharge line.
Remove drain plugs from pump.
Drain pressure tank if present.
